Facebook Is Also going To Launch Its Own Podcast Platform From Next Week

It was rumored back in April that the social media behemoth, Facebook, will be launching its own podcast platform in the near future, according to the Wall Street Journal. After much speculation, the business has now confirmed that podcasts would definitely be added to its platform the next week, on Tuesday.
According to The Verge, Facebook has se nt out letters to podcast producers informing them of the launch of a new podcast page on the social media platform on June 22. It was said in the email that users would be able to listen to podcasts directly on Facebook pages, as well as via a new "Podcasts" button, which has not yet been made accessible.

This is what Facebook stated in an email obtained by The Verge: "To make it easier for them (people) to discover your work, we can create a new tab to your Page that will showcase your podcasts." There is no need to submit or link to any content. As new episodes become available, your Page will be updated with the most recent episodes. At any moment, you may also unpublish or delete your podcast from the internet.”

An RSS feed to a podcast will be available on the website, in the same way that Apple podcasts, Spotify, and other platforms already provide this functionality. Once the podcast has been authorized, fresh episodes will be immediately added to the site.

The terms of service established for the podcast platform on Facebook, which is unique, explicitly provide the business permission to create “derivative works” from the material. This is noteworthy. There isn't much information available about what this implies in detail, but podcast producers should bear this in mind before uploading their work to the social media platform.

Aside from allowing users to create pages and add a podcast tab to their profiles, Facebook will also provide a new tool called "Snippets" that will allow producers to advertise their work by posting short clips from a specific episode that can be shared anywhere on the social network.
Podcasts are an example of Facebook's apparent reliance, on the platform, on the fact that podcasters already use it to advertise their programs, engage in discussion with their listeners, and encourage interaction with their listeners. Indirectly posting to the platform may make it simpler for businesses to achieve those objectives, while also providing users with a compelling incentive to never leave the Facebook application. Alternatively, it's conceivable that Facebook is looking at the possibilities of podcast advertising, which is something Spotify has been focusing on as it introduces exclusive programs and its own ad network.
