Picture-in-picture Mode is finally coming to YouTube for iOS user

Everyone may now look forward to receiving it. On iOS devices, YouTube will enable free users to continue watching a video in the background – at least in part.

A picture-in-picture (PIP) feature will allow you to leave the YouTube app while still having your video play on a smaller screen that will stay on the screen will be implemented. This is in contrast to the old minimize function, which allowed users to make their current video play on a smaller screen while they were still surfing inside the YouTube app, but only while they were still browsing within the YouTube app.

There is, of course, a catch to this. According to MacRumors, the PIP functionality will be available first to Premium members (it is presently in the process of being rolled out). However, YouTube has said that the functionality would be made accessible to all users, whether they are paying or not, at some point in the future.

As a non-paying YouTube user, one of the things that especially excites me about PIP is the idea that I'll be able to utilize it as a temporary workaround to continue to stream music for f ree. The only people who can listen to music from YouTube using Background Play are those who have a YouTube Premium subscription. Background Play enables you to shut the app and still hear the audio, even when the screen is totally off.

This solution, however, will not be without flaws: PIP will just reduce the size of the screen, not fully stop the app, which will continue to play music in the background. As a result, you'd have to rely on your phone to navigate around the tiny screen, which doesn't seem too terrible.

What's even more irritating are the worries about battery life and data use. Maintaining the video's playback, even on a tiny screen, would undoubtedly deplete the battery of an iPhone very fast. And if you're doing it when you're not connected to the internet, your data cost will pile up just as quickly. As a result of the constant display, you would have to disable any Power Save settings, and the always-on screen would probably not play well with the inside of a pocket.

As previously said, it is not without flaws, but I am prepared to put up with them. I use YouTube to watch particular things like vloggers, tutorials, and sometimes celebrity interviews, which are all things that I can only get on YouTube in most cases. I'm mostly an aural learner, therefore I like to pay careful attention to the audio in these films while watching them with much less intensity. And, most importantly, I'm easily distracted, so I'd like it if I could have my favorite videos playing in the background while I'm doing other things on my phone without having to subscribe to YouTube Premium.
